This buildings dates to 1359. Trees Cottage is a two-bay base-cruck hall which lacks its chamber end and has had the chamber end rebuilt following a fire. The framing is of exceptional quality, both massive (arcade braces measure 6½ ins x 11 ins) and finely made. The hall framing is virtually intact; the truss at the lower end has a pointed central doorway beyond which no trace remains of the primary phase work. (Haddon-Reece and Miles 1992, VA 23, list 43)
